Vastse – Kuuste is located in Põlva county, in South – Estonia, 230 km from our capital Tallinn.

Vastse – Kuutse School is the only school in our district. The population of Vastse – Kuuste district is 1260 people. All our students live in the same area. Many of these students come from socially insecure families with relatively low income. These families often have also only one parent.

Vastse – Kuuste school enables students to start learning English in form two (the state curriculum is to start learning it in the form three). Extra attention is also paid to students with special needs. For this we have individual lessons and curricula. In the forms one to three we have additional teachers who help to teach the lessons.

Our students regularly participate in sports competitions (basketball, orienteering). We also have a tradition of annual theatre festivals taking place every spring on different specific topics (e.g. to celebrate the anniversaries of important writers, poets, playwrights).
