Our school is situated in Scandicci, an area with students with various social, economical and cultural backgrounds as well as an average percentage of immigrants from Albany, Romania, South America and China. So the main educational aims of the school are:

- teaching the students to respect the differences of opinion, religion and races;

- solving problems coming from the students’ different social, economical and cultural backgrounds;

- helping students with special needs and low motivation finding a confidential and stimulating atmosphere. 

The teaching strategies and means used to face with these problems are:

• drama and musical laboratories as curricular or extra curricular activities (final year orchestra and theatre performance) ;
• “Giochi della Gioventù” (sport competition);
• Olimpiadi della Matematica (Maths competition) in collaboration with Bocconi University of Milan;
• Recycling competition among schools in Tuscany;
• “Cento Giochi Cento capolavori” (Art exhibition);
• Participation in literary competitions.

In order to help students with conflicts or personal problems, a psychologist is also available one day a week.
